Naive Perspective

This is my first attempt at carving in 2008, originally entitled First, which I revisited and sold under Naive Perspective in 2017. Perspective is a term used in painting and in architecture. I chose to use it figuratively as a particular way of seeing things. The creation of First was an unparalleled joy for me. Something magical and ecstatic happened, yet very real, as if my mind had reached uncharted territory? The creative process has since haunted me and never left me. Whether Buddhist statues or the Black Virgin of Auvergne, everything comes together in a chaotic and exhilarating whole.
